新しい看板と古い看板

長谷駅側の角にあった古い看板をようやく作り直すことができました。古い看板は2年前の大雪の時に即席で作った雪かき用のスコップを再利用したものでした。
We remake our signboard on the north corner near Hase Station Old sign board was reused a snow scoop. We made it in poor timbers instantly when we had heavy snow 2 years ago.

新しい看板を作るにあたって、まず、idobataがどういうお店なのかを良く考えることにしました。改めて気付かされたのですがidobataはとてもシンプルなお店だなと。コーヒー以外のメニューは一切ありません。ラテもエスプレッソも出していません。お店はというと小さな車と簡素な竹製の日除けの屋根だけです。雨が降ってきたらビニールシートをかけなくてはなりませんし、更に雨が強くなれば営業を続けられなくなります。
When I made new sign board, I thank deeply about our shop to express it properly. I perceived our business is very simple coffee shop. We provide only coffee, no latte, no espresso. We have only small car and bamboo pergola. If we have little rain, we have to put up plastic sheet over the pergola. If the rain becomes heavy, we can’t operate our shop.

I wrote catch phrases “コーヒー、coffee, 珈琲。” on the blue board. “コーヒー” is Japanese original character. “Coffee” that Japanese almost can understand is of course alphabet. “珈琲” is Kanji that originate from Chinese. These words mean same in Japan and we use all of them frequently. Actually, we have three type of character. But we ordinary use only one write. I think that we consider coffee as special drink.
